Members who were present give a recap of the filming on Monday. All members agreed it was a great experience and they can’t wait to see the finished product. Fundraising Coordinator, Ashlee Sanders, who played one of the main roles in the video, said the filming went smoothly and we were able to get a lot of filming done. Vice President of Membership, Drew Hans, who also played a main role, said the filing process was really cool and even though he did not want to be in the video, he’s glad he did. Vice President of Public Relations, Europe Doan, said her experience as Assistant Director was really good because when she was recruiting people to be in the video she was able to inform them of the Student Success Center. President, Anna Buetow, said she was happy with the turn out and that it was great that we were able to recruit a few people on campus. Secretary, Brandi Husch, who served as Director, thanked everyone for coming and reports that Monday Europe Doan and herself will sit down with the Jonathan (the intern that helped us film) and get the video edited. Jonathan will be putting the video on YouTube and on a disk for us to have.
Presidents, Anna Buetow, asks everyone to help get the word out about the video. She has a list of Department heads and assigns them to those who want to help out. She also gives them a general “script” for what to say to the Department heads. Vice President of Public Relations, Europe Doan, volunteers to contact Valerie Barko. Member, Ethan Edwards, volunteers to contact Greg Walker and Mr. Giri. Fundraising Coordinator, Ashlee Sanders, volunteers to contact Melanie Pecord. Vice President of Membership, Drew Hans volunteers to contact JoAnna Christopher and Jane Bryant. President, Anna Buetow, volunteers to contact Stephanie Chaney Hartford. All present members agree that it is a good idea. Secretary, Brandi Husch, and Vice President, Europe Doan, agree to work together to get a flyer made up as soon as possible.
Bulletin board Report--
It should probably be finished before school starts. We will discuss this further when Vice President of Fellowship and Bulletin Board Committee Head, Kristi Fleming returns next week.
Scrapbooking Report--
Vice President of Public Relations and Scrapbook Committee Head, Europe Doan, reports on today’s scrapbook accomplishments. The pictures for the month on July have been picked out. The saying for the month of July will be “Helping Hands”. Europe also asks members to keep an eye open for clock stickers, because she has been unable to find any. President, Anna Buetow, asks members to bring in any spare scrapbooking material that they may have. *Also Note: We will be scrapbooking before our meeting next week at 12:30pm.* If you have any question/comments please email Europe at[email protected].

Fellowship Opportunities--
St. Louis to the City Museum on Saturday, August 17, 2013. This will give us as members a chance to catch up with one another as the new Fall 2013 semester begins and a chance to see our former President Christina Boyce (YAY!!!!!). Some detail: $12 + tax is the admission. $5 more dollars, if we're wanting to go on roof. + gas per person for the trip, $5-10. It'll most likely be about $25 to $30 each. We will leave John A. at 10am and be at the park by 11am/12pm. This is also an “unofficial” event due to not having an advisor, so anyone is welcome to drive separately and meet us up there. If you are planning on going please reply to this email and let me know so we can figure out cost/transportation.
New Business:
Service Opportunities-
Secretary, Brandi Husch, asks Vice President of Public Relations to inform the chapter of the next time we can help unload the truck for the food pantry at All Nations Church.
Fellowship Opportunities-
Just a reminder about City Museum.
Honors in Action Update/Info:
Theme 6: “Food Fight!: Competition and Food” Question #9: “How do guidelines, such as the USDA’s Food Pyramid and school lunch programs compete with or match parental/community food standards and/or realities?”
President, Anna Buetow, reminds members that anyone is able to do research at any time. We will have a set date that we will be working on it soon. Keep the Theme and Question in mind because you never know what will come up in your daily life that relates to it!
Anything else??
President, Anna Buetow, informed present members that with the semester starting and still no Advisor, that we may be limited to what events we can do officially because official events such as, fundraising and fellowship, require an Advisor be present. She notes that we can still do certain things like fellowship events “unofficially”, but we will not be able to add it to the scrapbook or publicly advertise it. Vice President of Membership, Drew Hans, stated that we either need to follow all the rules all of the time or not.
(*Secretary note- I would like to let members know that with us getting a new Advisor this year, we will be learning and growing together. This may mean that we find out rules that we didn’t know existed. When we find out that we have to make certain changes that may be inconvenient I would like to ask everyone to please be understanding. Sometimes things have to change, but as long as we all stay positive, I think we will have a great year, no matter what changes need to be made.)
Adjournment:
Before adjourning the meeting, President, Anna Buetow, thanks everyone who is able to make it to the meeting and hopes those not present are able to keep up with us on Facebook and Twitter.
Motion to Adjourn by Secretary, Brandi Husch.
